Proprietors Jim and Mayuree (May) Brown are the former owners of Thai Sweet Pepper Restaurant (shown below) in Dover, New Hampshire, a pleasant 60-seat dining room on Dover's suburban north side offering up tantalizing Thai fare at the hand and wok of Mayuree herself.

Thai Sweet Pepper was well received by the Dover area's dining public and enjoyed several very prosperous years. At the height of its popularity, however, serious illness struck the family and forced Jim and Mayuree to sell the business and focus on the ensuing health issues. Now, nearly three years later and crisis resolved, they have relocated to Brookline seeking to start afresh.

MJ Ready International Bistro is a small but delightful eatery which offers interior or courtyard seating within the historic Arcade Building at 318 Harvard Street in Brookline's Coolidge Corner, one block north of Beacon Street (Click "Bing Map" above). The ambiance of the quaint shop-lined courtyard of period tile conjures the image and feel of a European sidewalk cafe with the added benefit of being out of the weather, which often mars the appeal of such places. Enhancing its convenience and accessibility is the 150-car metered parking lot one enters off Centre Street at the rear entrance of the Arcade.

Everything on MJ Ready's bill of fare is cooked to order. In addition to the generous number of Thai items on the menu, Mayuree and Jim also serve up an array of delicious Italian pasta selections as well as classic sandwiches and breakfast all day. Baked goods in the deli case are made fresh on premises, and for coffee lovers there are also espresso and cappuccino.

Smaller and less formal than their prior establishment, MJ Ready nevertheless stands as a tribute to the couple's enterprising spirit. As well diners can be assured that although the business is still young, having opened in just October of 2009, Jim and Mayuree bring to it the same savoir-faire and outstanding culinary skill that made their Thai Sweet Pepper such a rave success.
